The Housing Development Corporation was founded as a subsidiary of the Sisters of Charity in 1986 to meet the needs of low-income elderly persons.
Three years later, Fox House was opened in response to extreme poverty and to extend our care to those suffering from or at risk of homelessness.
Since then, our housing efforts have continued to grow and develop.
Today, we sponsor 589 units of permanent housing, providing homes for around 733 people, as well as 33 units of transitional housing. With the help of our supporters, we continue to pursue new housing opportunities to help provide affordable and supportive homes to those in need.
The Sisters of Charity’s experience in health care and social services combine, giving our Housing Development Corporation a unique ability to provide for those we serve.
